Expressions of interest

The Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing is now calling for expressions of interest to conduct a boat transfer service as a commercial operation for the transport of bushwalkers of the Thorsborne Trail on Hinchinbrook Island. The commercial opportunity being offered is to transport people to and from the mainland, including Cardwell and Lucinda (Dungeness Boat Ramp) to both ends of the Thorsborne Trail.

What's special

The island’s cloud-covered mountains support fragile heath vegetation. Rainforest and eucalypt forest descend to a mangrove-lined channel in the west with bays, beaches and rocky headlands along the east coast.
